How to get more plumbing leads

Plumbing has steady demand, from blocked drains to hot water. Here is how to get more of those calls coming to you, not just to the lead sites.

Updated · Find My Tradie

Homeowners usually need a plumber in a hurry: a blocked drain, a burst flexi hose, no hot water. That means the plumber who's easiest to find and quickest to call often wins. The goal is to be visible in all the places people look at that moment.

Win the "plumber near me" search

  • Set your Google Business Profile category to Plumber, and add specifics like hot water service or drainage where they fit.
  • List the exact suburbs you cover, and post photos of real jobs (tidy installs, before and after shots of a drain clear).
  • If you do after-hours work, say so clearly and set accurate hours. "Emergency plumber" searches are high intent.

Name the jobs people search for

People rarely search "plumbing services". They search the problem. Make sure your website or profile names the jobs you want more of:

  • Blocked drains, CCTV drain inspections, jetting
  • Hot water system repair and replacement (gas, electric, heat pump)
  • Leaking taps, toilets and burst pipes
  • Gas fitting, if you hold the right licence class
  • Bathroom and kitchen rough-ins for renovators

On a Find My Tradie listing you pick up to five trades and write a short description, so put your best-paying jobs in that description.

Build repeat and referral work

  • Property managers and strata: steady maintenance work. Offer clear call-out pricing and fast invoices.
  • Builders and renovators: reliable rough-in and fit-off work.
  • Past customers: a short SMS before winter about hot water checks, or after big storms about drains.

Show your licence

Plumbing is licensed or registered in every Australian state and territory, and many homeowners now check. Put your licence number on your quotes, van and listings. Some states require it in advertising. Find My Tradie has a licence number field on every listing.

Work out what a lead really costs you

If you use a lead site, divide what you spent in a month by the number of jobs you actually won from it. That's your real cost per job. Compare it with flat-fee options. A $19/month listing only has to bring in one decent job a year to pay for itself, but we're upfront that we're a new directory and can't promise any particular number of enquiries.

Straight up: Find My Tradie is new (launched October 2026). We're signing up tradies first, area by area, so homeowners find a full directory when we start promoting it to them. We can't guarantee leads or work, and we won't pretend to. What you get is a cheap, permanent profile page with no lock-in, so you can try it for a month and cancel by email if it isn't for you.
